Things to Do Near Trenton & Chattanooga

Our wedding will be in Trenton, Georgia, tucked near Lookout Mountain and just a short drive from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Many guests will be staying in Chattanooga, so we wanted to share a mix of scenic outdoor adventures, charming mountain spots, and city activities to enjoy during your visit.

For Nature Lovers:

Cloudland Canyon State Park
One of Georgia’s most beautiful state parks, Cloudland Canyon is known for canyon overlooks, waterfalls, hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking, and scenic views. It is a perfect option for guests who want a peaceful outdoor escape before or after the wedding.

Lookout Mountain
A classic Chattanooga-area destination with panoramic views, outdoor attractions, and historic sites. Guests can explore Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Incline Railway, or nearby scenic overlooks.

Rock City Gardens
Located atop Lookout Mountain, Rock City is a family-friendly walking trail with rock formations, gardens, mountain views, and the famous “See 7 States” viewpoint.

Ruby Falls
A well-known Lookout Mountain attraction featuring an underground waterfall and cave experience. Great for guests who want something memorable but not a full hiking day.

Lookout Mountain Incline Railway
A scenic railway ride up Lookout Mountain with beautiful views of the Tennessee Valley. This is a fun option for families, couples, or anyone wanting a classic Chattanooga experience.

Lookout Mountain Flight Park
For adventurous guests, Dade County is known for hang gliding, and Lookout Mountain Flight Park sits above Trenton. Even if you do not fly, it can be fun to watch gliders over the valley.

For a City Day in Chattanooga:

Downtown Chattanooga & the Riverfront
Spend the day along the Tennessee River with restaurants, walking paths, parks, and scenic views. The downtown area is easy to explore and has a nice mix of casual sightseeing, food, and waterfront charm.

Tennessee Aquarium
Located downtown on the Tennessee River, the Tennessee Aquarium is one of Chattanooga’s most popular attractions and is home to thousands of animals, along with an IMAX theater.

Walnut Street Bridge & NorthShore
Walk across the pedestrian Walnut Street Bridge for beautiful river and skyline views, then explore NorthShore for local shops, cafés, parks, and relaxed Chattanooga charm.

Bluff View Art District
A beautiful historic area downtown with cafés, restaurants, art, gardens, river views, and a slower, European-inspired feel. Great for coffee, pastries, photos, or a leisurely afternoon stroll.

Hunter Museum of American Art
A great option for guests who enjoy art, architecture, and river views. It pairs well with a visit to the Bluff View Art District or a walk along the riverfront.

Chattanooga Choo Choo & Southside
A fun stop for guests who want a more urban feel, with restaurants, bars, shops, and Chattanooga’s historic train-station atmosphere.

Guest Note

Since Trenton is close to Chattanooga, guests can easily choose between a peaceful mountain weekend, a city-style Chattanooga stay, or a little bit of both. Whether you want waterfalls and overlooks, coffee and art, or restaurants and riverfront walks, there is plenty to enjoy nearby.
